Criterion Games, the grandmasters of arcade racing, are back at the helm of Need For Speed with Unbound, an adrenaline-fuelled outing that clamps down on some of the excesses of recent NFS outings in favour of a tighter racing experience. The game boasts a new visual style, that takes the realism fans expect and adds in a layer of street art graphics. Players can customise their rides with tags that will, in turn, present as living graphics as you're careening around the city with cops on your tail. The more you race, the more heat you'll attract, and as the police pile on the pressure you'll need to make tactical decisions using new escape mechanics to hang onto your freedom. Can you outrun them? Should you try to tackle them head-on? Will you hide out in the city's underground? Unbound's aesthetic customisations run deep. There are hundreds of cosmetic items to pimp your character with, including gear from some of the world's hottest fashion innovators. Similarly, there are loads of cutaways and wraps to make your ride stand out. Handling has been sharpened up this time out, with real weight and meat to the cars on offer, but the driving is still pretty wild. This is, after all, a Need for Speed.

Suitable for ages 12 and over.
