2007 ROYAL MINT UNITED KINGDOM PROOF COIN SET - EXECUTIVE COIN COLLECTION
Twelve coin proof-finish executive annual set for 2007 featuring the definitive and commemorative coinage issued in this year. We marked a number of royal and cultural anniversaries in 2007 including, many of which are celebrated on the coins in this set. In pride of place we see the Five Pound coin, issued to celebrate the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, featuring a double portrait of the royal couple who married in 1947. This is flanked with two £2 coins, one for the 300th anniversary of the Acts of Union (1707) and the other for 200 years since the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act (1807). A Scouting centenary 50p and a Gateshead Millennium Bridge £1 round out the commemorative offer. These are accompanied by seven 2007 definitive coins including a 2007 £2, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p, all with a fine proof finish. Proof coins are struck multiple times with hand prepared dies for a superior, high-contrast richly detailed appearance. The obverse of all the coins in this set shows Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, the fourth such definitive effigy utilised on her British coinage, in use between 1998 and 2015. Royal Mint executive sets come in beautiful wooden presentation cases, adorned with a metal plate to the lid. The interior is flocked, encasing the coin set which is presented in a double sided clear case, allowing the owner to appreciate the design without direct handling. An informative booklet and a certificate of authenticity are enclosed.
