After successfully rebooting the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series with Wildlands, Ubisoft is back with a new offering that blends tactical military shooting and co-op gameplay. You're back in the boots of the titular Ghosts, an Elite spec ops unit with a knack for going about their business unseen and undetected. When Auroa, a wild island that plays host to tech giant Skell Technology, goes dark, it falls to you and your team to do some recon. It has been quietly and efficiently been taken over by The Wolves, you see. They're a crew of former Ghosts, now gone rogue, and they're very good at what they do. Led by Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, played by that bloke who was the Punisher on Netflix (aka Jon Bernthal), these lads soon have your helicopter shot down and you on the run. The other catch is that the thing making Skell Technology such a big deal is their wide array of lethal drone technology. You can see where that's going. So, hunted and isolated you and your team must get to work taking back the island. As with its predecessors, this is a game that's all about getting your tactics sorted and coordinating with your teammates, whether they're AI or other players. New military features include the abilities to carry teammates and enemies, blend into your environment with prone camouflage and set up a bivouac with your buddies to manage equipment, work on strategy and change classes. You'll really feel how unforgiving Auroa is thanks to its steep slopes, building fatigue and accumulating injuries. Beyond the core game Ubisoft has promised to keep things fresh with regular updates that include new classes, features and stories and a new kind of endgame content - raids.
